What is Pet EFT, and How Can it Help YOUR Pet?

According to Emotional Freedomom Technique (EFT) Founder Gary Craig, "EFT is an emotional version of acupuncture except you don't use needles." (Learn more about EFT case histories on his website.)

"Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping them with your fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says...

"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

"This common sense approach draws its power from (1) time-honored Eastern discoveries that have been around for over 5,000 years and (2) Albert Einstein, who told us back in the 1920's that everything (including our bodies) is composed of energy.

"These ideas have been largely ignored by Western Healing Practices and that is why EFT often works where nothing else will. It's not that EFT is so stunning (although it may certainly appear that way to you).

Rather, it is because conventional healing methods have simply overlooked the obvious."

You will see that clearly as you allow Pet EFT to help heal you pet.

EFT for Cats

Pet EFT for Cats: When a cat has to...

by Michelle LaPrise

So...here's my latest tapping miracle. My kit-kat Junior is 11 and has a problem common among male cats whereby his little plumbing gets blocked every so often and he can't pee.

This is either stress - or food-induced, and flares up about once a year or so, requiring an expensive trip to the vet. All day Friday I noticed he would go in the litterbox and sit and wait and nothing would come out -- a sure sign the plumbing is blocked again.

He was clearly in stress and pain. I adopted a wait-and-see attitude and went out for the night. When I returned home he was back in his litterbox, furtively trying to make good use of it. No go.

His condition had worsened..he was sluggish, bloated and in pain. (and now we were talking a $500 trip to the emergency vet hospital since it was after hours).

I put Junior on a piece of carpet in the garage and did a round of surrogate tapping ("Even though I can't pee....")

After one round, Junior stood up and walked off the carpet, leaving a huge puddle of you-know-what behind him. I was blown away.

I kept close watch on him during the night and he is completely fine and back to normal. Whew! You saved me $500 and a lotta stress about my cherished kitty's health.

How can I ever thank you (Junior sends his regards too - and was wondering if a dead mouse would be a fitting gesture of his appreciation to you).

EFT for Dogs

Pet EFT for Dogs: The Dog that Used to Chew Everything.

"This is for those with open minds. It is a fascinating example of using EFT surrogately for animals and generating impressive success.

To add to the unusual nature of this article the author, Laila del Monte, has developed the ability to communicate on a profound level with animals.

She does this professionally. She can often resolve behavior and health issues with animals through her "discussion" with them.

However, when that resolution doesn't occur, she turns to EFT. Please pay particular attention to the Setup phrases used in this case and how animals, like humans, have important core issues." -- Gary Craig

By Laila del Monte

I’m writing to you about a case where EFT worked very successfully on a behavioral issue with a dog.

I am an animal communicator so people call me constantly with behavioral; issues: urination, jealousy, aggression, lost cases, death and dying etc.

In this case LC (initials only for privacy purposes) called me about her male dog, Pebbles, who was chewing everything in her house: carpets, linoleum, plants, furniture stairs and stair spindles. She was at her wit’s end and very upset when she called me. She had to lock him up when she was out and was considering returning him to the pound. Now she was a very caring and nurturing animal rescuer so I knew she was at her wit’s end.

So she sent me a photo and I did the communication. I had no other information to go on other than his name and age and that there were two sons living with her. I found out deep emotional issues with her two sons which I cannot convey here, jealousy with the other dogs, especially one of them and a need to chew because his gums were itchy and an overall state of extreme anxiety, restlessness and hyperness which I couldn’t really explain. He seemed to be always frantic and almost out of body. His thoughts jumped from one to the other and he couldn’t keep a consistent thought process. It seemed like a case of doggy ADD.

Even the issues going on with the sons were not enough to cause all of that. I also found that he had changed homes before and had a big fear of abandonment.

So I called her up and she validated everything I told her and then I thought: ”surely it will stop now, he will calm down”. Usually the communication itself and some Healing Light does the trick. But not in his case, the next day, he was still chewing.

So I tried again in the form of more talking and healing. That always worked!

No, still chewing. I tried for a whole week and nothing happened. We were both very discouraged. I was totally ready to give up! I was tired of trying and he was so hard to speak to. Couldn’t keep his attention in one place! As I was talking with her and felt how upset she was all of a sudden I thought the magic words: EFT!

It worked on people so why not give it a try?

I told her I had one more trick up my sleeve and that I would try it. Give me another week.

I went back in communication and started the session. I explained to him what I was about to do and asked if it was ok. I know that to most people this sounds crazy but to me it is normal. I can see the animal and talk as if he were right there, in front of me. It is hard to describe the actual session because the words were coming so fast. I would tap for one thing and then another one would surface right away.

I tapped on Pebbles in my imagination. No proxy. I did the set up (on his sore spot) and the whole sequence. I had him rolling his eyes and singing happy birthday (which was hysterically funny except that he was upset and having a hard time with all of that). Usually one full round of tapping would bring it down to a zero and then something else cropped up. Very fast. And we tapped again. I tapped until I didn’t hear anything and felt a sense of calm. I asked him if he was done and I got a yes. SO I stopped.

This is an example of what we tapped for not necessarily in this order:

Even though I like to chew because it makes me salivate and my gums feel good, I deeply….

Even though my gums are itchy….

Even though I love the taste of that wood, I deeply and completely love and accept myself and choose to chew only toys

Even though I hate that dog (name)…

Even though she (the dog) wants me out of here…

Even though they (the other animals) get everything they want and I don’t….

Even though she (the guardian) is angry at me and will give me up and I’ll be all alone….

Even though I heard her say she will bring me back (pound)….(crying at this point. Some tapping about the pound but very brief)

Even though I ‘m scared of being alone…

Even though I’m bad….

Even though they always leave me…. Even though nobody loves me because I’m bad….

Even though the boy doesn’t like me

Even though he pushes me away….

Even though they yell at me and I’m bad and I know it but I can’t help it and what will happen to me… Even though I will have to go back to that place (pound) and I don’t care….

Even though I don’t care because nobody wants me…

Even though I know she is going to leave me…

Even though I can’t remember what it feels like to be loved because they never like me and I’m not good enough…

Even though I’m not good enough for anybody and nobody will want me and I will just die and I don’t care

The next day, Pebble’s guardian called and told me the chewing stopped.

She was only chewing on her toys. And the dominance with the other dog stopped too. I couldn’t believe it! I didn’t dare to believe it! I knew Gary said try it on everything but this was too good to be true! So we waited a few weeks (I was cautious) then a month and still no chewing. This is about 9 months ago. Since then I have used EFT in communication form on cats with urination problems, dogs, show horses and even two parrots! Always with good results! I try it when the communication is not enough. I am now exploring it with animals who are not responding to healing. I have discovered that the short form is enough, no need to have them rolling their eyes! (I did enjoy that though!). Also finding the gamut point on a hoof is too hard and the cats did not appreciate the finger/claw points!

I am convinced that this can be done without being a communicator. I would recommend closing your eyes, imagining that your pet is in front of you and tapping for everything that crops up in your head. The short form is enough. Use your intuition! It’s faster then with people, they really want to please. The key is not to tap them for what you want ( ie: stop stealing the chicken, going on the sofa, scratching your privates in public…) but to find the underlying cause for what’s going on. I have found that clients that are connected to their pets already really know what is going on. In the case of show horses EFT is very useful for anxiety or fear related to performance as with people performers. The key here is to listen with the heart and tap! I’m pretty sure you will be amazed to see how they respond to you.

Pet EFT for Dogs: Surrogate Tapping

We saw the swelling subside in front of our eyes.

"Catherine Driscoll brings to our attention some surrogate tapping experiences with dogs--one of them quite dramatic.

I asked her why dogs seem to respond so well to surrogate tapping and she told me, 'Animals are VERY responsive to energetic therapies, such as acupuncture, homoeopathy, Bach flower remedies, etc. As dogs are very much ruled by feelings, I guess they respond well to energies.'

It could also be that Catherine's keen love for dogs aids the process. To me, our results with surrogate tapping are evidence of a spiritual oneness that connects us all. In time, we may learn that the more we involve love in the process, the better results we will get from our surrogate (or intentional) tapping." -- Gary Craig, Founder EFT.

I wanted to share an "optical illusion" with you. My 14 year old Golden Retriever, Sophie, has had arthritis since she was six. We've helped her with nutrition, herbs, homoeopathy and acupuncture, but it stays in the background. Last week her front right paw swelled up so much that it became deformed. I tapped on myself (surrogately) for her .... "Even though Sophie has a painful swollen paw" and "Even though Sophie has arthritis". I couldn't believe my eyes. The paw went down as though it were a balloon letting out air. It was like a horror story special effect in reverse.

Not trusting myself not to have imagined it, Sophie was good enough to manifest the swollen paw while my sister was visiting. I again tapped surrogately while she and my husband looked on. Again, we saw the swelling subside in front of our eyes.

You couldn't have more positive proof that surrogate tapping works. My sister hurried home to tap on her own dogs. Before she left, I had her tap on, "Even though I'm not worthy of attention ..". I hope she'll be tapping on herself before long!

Also, thought you might be interested in the dog I treated yesterday. Nials is a 10 month-old Bull Terrier who became epileptic one week after his vaccine shot. Lots of scientific evidence linking epilepsy in with vaccines.

I couldn't get him to sit still, he is very hyper, so I walked around with him, surrogately tapping on fits, excitability, vaccine damage. Had an insight, so also tapped him for worrying about his 'mummy and daddy' worrying that he has fits. I taught the owners how to tap (they looked rather surprised as this was a referral and they weren't really expecting to be tapping themselves and singing happy birthday!).

At one point, I was sitting on the floor and the puppy flung himself at me to play and started skitting around, and the man said that he was about to go into a fit (his jaw started trembling, which was an indicator). So I surrogately tapped on Nials' fits. He settled down and started eating a bone, no fits.

The owners went away saying that although they found it strange at first, they were going to practice tapping. I suggested they tap on their own anxiety about the fits, so that if it happened again, they would have less emotional charge. They are going to let me know how it goes. The puppy was fitting at two to seven week intervals, so it will be interesting to see if it lessens. As this puppy is on high doses of steroids, I sincerely hope so. I advised them to tap if they thought he was about to fit, and also if he was in a fit.

EFT for Horses

Pet EFT for a Horse Panic Attack

"This case by Laila delMonte is important evidence of the "oneness" or connection between us all (including the animal kingdom).

Laila has developed an intuitive ability to communicate with animals and has done this quite effectively for many years. In this case a horse had unexplainable panic attacks until Laila found the core issue. This is one of our more fascinating cases." -- EFT Founder, Gary Craig

By Laila delMonte

Constellation is a beautiful male white horse. His person, Stella called me because he would start weaving all of a sudden and they couldn't help him. When I did a communication with him, I couldn't find any particular reason for the weaving. He was healthy, well kept, with a wonderful person who took good care of him and seemed perfectly normal otherwise.

I did experience his weaving as an intense form of panic attack, I could feel the extreme anxiety gripping his heart and the sweat breaking on his body. It seemed to happen each time a horse would go away from him. It didn't have to be a close companion, just any horse that would be standing close to him and would be led away would throw him into panic.

So I proceeded to surrogately tap: (not physically, but mentally in behalf of Constellation)

Even though I feel this thing clutching at my throat

Even though I have this anxiety in my chest

Even though I freak out when a horse goes away .

Even though I can't see anymore around me and I'm afraid

Even though my limbs go numb

Even though I hate this energy that takes over my body

Even though I feel dizzy

Even though I know when it s going to come but I can't stop it

Even though I don t understand what's happening to me, I have no control . I m powerless. I m all alone.

We tapped on all the different aspects of the fear and how it made him feel. I still couldn't find any particular reason why a horse going away would throw him into such an attack but I tapped anyhow.

After that Stella told me there was improvement. The attacks were less frequent, less intense and shorter. I wasn't satisfied. So I decided to try again

I went back into session with him and asked me to relive the emotion and experience it to the end until another one came up. I decided to save the tapping for the big core issue. We went pretty fast as I witnessed and lived with him the whole anxiety attack process into the darkness and the terror. Then all of a sudden to my horror I was plunged into a scene with him very young, during an earthquake, stuck in a stall, the earth rumbling under our feet and the smell of sweat and fear and all the horses neighing in terror some standing up all trying to escape the stalls.

This took me by surprise. Last time I experienced an earthquake was in 93 when I had just arrived in the US. I was ready to fly straight back to Spain after that!

So we tapped on everything: the sound of the earthquake, the smells, the fear, the being stuck in the stall, the other horses, the darkness, everything. Until we were both exhausted and a sense of peace filled us.

The next day I called Stella and told her the whole thing. She told me that he had lived through the San Francisco earthquake and that the age corresponded. She didn't know more as he wasn' t hers then.

Anyhow, after that, the weaving stopped.

Impressive EFT surrogate work helps horse with sensitive hoof and an electric fence

Nicole Schmid from Australia conveys how surrogate EFT can be very useful for animals.

By Nicole Schmid

I’ve been doing EFT for a few months now and have been trying it out on myself, family and friends with success. The other day I decided to try it on my young horse Bobby.

A couple of months ago, she went lame. Not knowing much about horses, I thought she was foundering, but when the farrier finally came, he told me she’d injured the frog in her hoof, which had now healed but she was extremely sensitive and didn’t want anyone picking up her hoof and cleaning it out (I’d noticed that!).

His opinion was that it could take several weeks at least before she would easily submit to me picking up her hoof.

I decided to tap on her surrogately, and used the set up phrase

“Even though my hoof is sore, I deeply love and trust my human”

“Even though I’m afraid to let anyone touch my hoof, I deeply love and trust my human.”

“Even though that sharp thing hurt my hoof, I deeply love and trust my human”

I then laid a hand on her hindquarter (her back left hoof was sensitive), and tapped for “sore hoof”, “I’m afraid”, “the sharp thing that hurt me”, picturing in my mind all the while how she might have experienced it.

When I picked her hoof up after that, she submitted as if there were no problem at all. She was okay the next day, but the day after she was a bit touchy again so I tapped again. Now she has no problem at all.

In a separate incidence, to stop her going wild and overeating on our 125 acre farm, we have in the last few days constructed a much smaller paddock for her. The fence is an electric fence.

She happily let me lead her into the paddock the first day, but the second day (this morning) when I took her back into the paddock after yarding her during the night, she rolled her eyes in fear and balked.

This time I used the set up phrase “Even though I’m afraid of that white tape, I deeply love and trust my human”, then I tapped on her eyebrow, side of the eye and under the eye with the words “white tape”.

On the spur of the moment, I couldn’t think of anywhere else to tap, but it didn’t matter because she followed me into the electrified paddock without a concern in the world.
